IGN UK – “overall it looks like it could be fairly interesting, especially considering some of the crazy plasmid and weapon combinations you could bring into battle”
CVG
Gamespot – “It makes us interested to see other facets of the multiplayer”
Gamestar – “Nice details (…) differentiate BioShock 2 from the rest of the multiplayer pack. Should be a lot of fun.”
4Players – “Looks like an entertaining visit to the underwater world”
Multiplayer – “The setting and the events of the multiplayer seem to be the most interesting and well developed part of the new mode.”
Gamesvillage – “Honestly I’ve always been rather sceptic about a multiplayer mode for masterpiece of 2K Games. (…) But what the first look revealed is enough to make me take back what I was saying few sentences ago. The multiplayer in BioShock 2 will be intense enough to make the gameplay not just tactics but able to involve both the characters’ skills and the environment as it happens in the single player and as it occurred also in the original title.”
Spaziogames – “Whoever shivered when the multiplayer was announced can now breathe again. The cooperation between 2K Marin – dedicated to the concept – and Digital Extremes – taking care of the development – offers a valuable product. From the menu to the storyline that deepens interesting details, the path the dev team is following is the best possible. On the other hand, we must admit that others are the titles able to involve million of users in crowded servers and – despite its good quality – the multiplayer in BioShock 2 may not get huge results more than the single player mode. Still waiting for more details on the 3rd mode, but it’s looking promising. »
Gamekult – « Regarding the multiplayer mode, the Digital Extremes team has given more information beginning the demo by a free for all combat in the Rapture’s corridors. The first surprise is a active use of the narrative (it’s rare in the multiplayer games) »
Jeuxvideo – « BioShock… this title makes the eyes of all the FPS fans shine. The game is worth playing due to its rich gameplay, its detailed graphics, its strong scenario, and moreover its amazing atmosphere from Rapture. (…) strong wish not to spoil the virtual immersive world of BioShock with unjustified multiplayer fights »
Jeuxactu – « The developers have been generous on information and details on the scenario. Contrary to classic FPS which propose multiplayer modes more or least innovative, BioShock2 will take time to tell a story »
Eurogamer – “2K Marin is definitely trying to make BioShock 2 more than just a simple sequel.”
Insidegamer – “Nice about the multiplayer is that you have your own apartment to adjust your skill set. An interesting way of integrating the multiplayer into the world of Rapture.”
Meristation – “One of the games we were most looking forward to seeing in action during the E3 was BioShock 2, 2K’s master piece sequel… So far what we have seen of the multiplayer it seems like it’s going to be a good add on to the game to complement the narrative and individual experience of the single player mode.”
FHM – “…is one of the most awaited games of the year.”
